Pinellas County Schools are discussing school operations beginning Monday, Sept. 30 following Hurricane Helene's devastating impact on the area.

According to Pinellas County officials, limited services are expected to reopen Monday. Those services include the payment center for utilities, the solid waste disposal complex, multiple county parks and more. As far as county services go, the following is set to reopen Monday:

Pinellas County has activated the Hurricane Helene Crisis Cleanup Hotline to help people who need assistance with cleanup efforts.

"The water was coming through the vents, through the air-conditioning ducts, every which way you can imagine."

As of 6:00 p.m. today, September 29th, the closed sections of Gulf Boulevard will be reopened. The affected areas include: ・North and southbound lanes of Gulf Boulevard from 150th Avenue (Tom Stuart Causeway) south to 140th Avenue in Madeira Beach.

Hurricane Helene’s widespread aftermath is also affecting the Pinellas school system. One faculty member lost their life, and hundreds of teachers suffering flood damage.

The Tampa Bay death toll from Hurricane Helene rose to at least 11 on Saturday, with nine Pinellas deaths and two in Hillsborough. Barrier island reopened in Pinellas late Saturday and residents continued to be evacuated.
