Wet weekend continues as yellow rain warning extended into Monday
The Met Office has extended a yellow rain warning to Monday, as Britain braces for a rainy weekend. Sunday will see heavy outbreaks of rain moving northwards through the morning across southern England and much of Wales.
Weather warning for rain stretches into Monday
A Met Office warning for heavy rain has been extended into Monday in the East of England, following an unsettled start to the weekend on Saturday. A "yellow" warning, meaning disruption could occur, has been put in place for parts of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire on Sunday.

The forecast is for thundery showers continuing throughout today until about 11pm, when they will be replaced by light showers. But then the rain will get heavy again at about 7am on Monday, remaining heavy most of the time until 6pm on Monday and then light rain is expected to continue until about 3am on Tuesday.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain have hit many parts of England and Wales since Friday, causing some disruption. On Friday, there was a confirmed tornado in Aldershot, Hampshire. Throughout Saturday and into Sunday morning, there were 13,000 lightning strikes recorded.
