At 8 a.m., Norman High parents received a message saying law enforcement notified the school of a possible bomb threat. The message said students and staff were in a safe area while the Norman Police Department swept the building. According to the message, investigators had identified the individual responsible.

In a letter posted by the district online, Norman Superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino said he and other district leaders are committed to the safety of everyone in the district after a reported bomb threat at Norman High School on Friday.

This school year alone, there have been 25 reports concerning mass violence, 11 of which have resulted in felony charges, the sheriff's office said.

A juvenile was arrested for making threats of mass violence directed toward Lake Norman High School on Sunday, Sept. 15.
