Celebrate the rich German culture in the QCA and enjoy a day of music, food, games and beer. German American Heritage Center Executive Director Brian Allen spoke with Our Quad Cities News about Oktoberfest.

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- The Binghamton German Club held its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday afternoon. The celebration had authentic German food, including an assortment of wursts. Some Oktoberfest-goers participated in the “Bier Stein” hoisting contest, a competition that demands you hold a beer mug at arm’s length for as long as possible.

During the next two weeks, look for a dog-friendly gathering, tricycle race and schnitzel sliders and brews at the city's ping-pong bar, among other parties.
